Rattlesnake creek, on it's way to the Clark Fork river, flows past Missoula's Campus Inn. In 1805, during the Lewis and Clark expedition, Merriweather Lewis camped here. The campsite is commemorated by a historical marker just yards from our front door. Lewis wouldn't recognize the area now, but today's travelers will find restuarants and shopping around this historic spot, with the University of Montana just two blocks away.
