The Historic Chalfonte Bed and Breakfast Hotel is Cape May's enduring National Historic Landmark. Built in 1876, the Chalfonte is celebrating it's 125th Anniversary this year. It is centrally located within walking distance of the largest collection of Victorain architecture in the United States. The Chalfonte is just foot steps from the expansive beaches and promenade ane within an easy walk to the finest shops, restaurants and attractions. Each guest room is unique in character, featuring a classic, seashore, 'Cottage' design and cooled by ceiling fans and crisp Atlantic breezes. You will find accomodations at the Chalfonte to be comfortable and quaint. In an effort to preserve the Chalfonte experience of peace and tranquillity, we ask that guests refrain from the use of beepers and cellular telephones in the public areas and on the verandahs. For the comfort and convenience of our guests, telephones are located off the main lobby and color television and games are located in the Writing Room. The Magnolia Room is a tradtional dining room/restaurant renowned for it's Southern fare, serving breakfast and dinner to hotel guests, and to any Cape May visitor choosing to have a wonderful family-style dining experience. Families with children are encouraged to take advantage of the Children's Dining Room. This is a fully supervised 'dining and entertainment' room for our ugests under the age of 6 years. For the dining pleasure of all our guests we suggest that families dining with young children in the Magnolia Room do so during our designated 'Family Time' which is from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
