Built in 1763 by John Rutledge, a signer of the US Constitution, this AAA Four-Diamond inn is located approximately three blocks from Charlestons historic market area. Its also two miles from downtown Charleston and the city marina, five miles from Patriots Point, 12 miles from Folly Beach, and 15 miles from Sullivans Island. The antebellum home is now an elegant bed-and-breakfast where guests can enjoy afternoon tea, evening turndown with chocolates, morning pastry delivery, and wine and sherry in ballroom where patriots, statesmen, and presidents had met. The inn has 19 rooms in three buildings. All have antiques, historic reproductions, and a variety of amenities.
